About Christopher
Hello there, my name is Christopher Hipona, and I have served as a full-time missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) since 2008 to the present. My life’s passion comes from my very first encounter with the living Christ was when I read the Bible for myself. Since then, I’ve been convinced that if Scripture could transform my life, it can transform the lives of others, too.

Mission
I am passionate about helping End Bible Poverty Now by teaching the Word of God, equipping leaders, and establishing Bible Schools in every nation where God opens the door.

When people encounter the Truth of Scripture, lives, communities, and nations are transformed. That conviction has shaped my calling: to dedicate my life to helping all people to engage with Scripture and have access to it in their own mother tongues, to deeply understand it, and to have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Over the years, God has given me the privilege of teaching the Bible in different nations and contexts, and also to train leaders who do the same as I, who multiply the impact of God’s Word in their own nations. Through the Discipleship Bible School (DBS) and other University of the Nations (UofN) Bible Engagement Programs, I invest in equipping men and women who will go on to disciple their families, churches, and communities with a solid foundation of Scripture.
Vision
My heart burns to see Bible Schools planted around the world, places where the Word of God is not only studied, but lived out in such a way that it brings transformation into the nation for the glory of God.

At the core of my ministry is the vision of “A world where no one is without the transforming power of God’s Word.” That means teaching where the Bible is already present, equipping leaders to teach faithfully, and pioneering in regions where there is a lack of Bible engagement programs.

This is not a mission I can do alone. It takes a community of people committed to prayer, partnership, and generosity. I’m continually humbled by those who choose to link arms with me, whether through prayer, encouragement, or financial support, to see Bible Poverty ended in our lifetime.

Family
When I’m not teaching or providing training, you’ll often find me at home, preparing lessons, journeying with students through Scripture, or dreaming about new ways to see God’s Word spread globally. Most importantly, I love being present with my wife, Jenneke, and our two beautiful daughters, Keziah and Zoë. Watching them grow in their unique journeys with Jesus is one of my greatest joys as a husband and father.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and the heartbeat behind what I do. I’d love for you to journey with me in this vision. Together, we can help to “END BIBLE POVERTY NOW!”
